AERO from every angle

The new generation of aerodynamic tires for road bikes, developed in close collaboration with the experts at DT Swiss and Swiss Side. The AERO 111 builds on the race-proven technologies of the GP5000 TR series and sets new standards in aerodynamics. The race-optimized Black Chili compound provides excellent grip and lower rolling resistance, while the proven Vectran Breaker offers puncture protection. The patented, aerodynamically optimized tread design features 48 precisely molded air chambers. These so-called "vortex generators" create controlled turbulence at the front wheel, allowing the airflow to stick to the rim for longer, thus reducing aerodynamic drag and optimizing handling in crosswinds.

The sail effect (forward force) increases at all speeds. Even with lower rim profiles, riders benefit from this effect because the laminar airflow remains on the rim longer and the resistance of the wheel-tyre system is reduced.

BlackChili Compound

The BlackChili tire compound is known for its perfect balance between grip and low rolling resistance. For the AERO 111, Continental uses a race-optimized compound to ensure the lowest possible rolling resistance and exceptional grip on dry and wet roads.

Vectran Breaker

Vectran The AERO 111 compound is made with the Vectra liquid crystal polymer. A multifibre thermoplastic yarn is thus obtained. In comparison, this semi-crystalline fabric is more cut resistant than aramid and has five times the tensile strength of steel. Vectran Breaker A is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective cut protection than nylon breakers. Rolling resistance is not negatively affected.

Lazer Grip

It allows you to become one with the road. The laser-cut microblock is concentrated in the shoulder area of the tire, for greater grip when cornering.

Continental recommends using at least 30ml of Conti RevoSealant per tire for initial mounting. Then rotate the tire or wheel to distribute the Conti RevoSealant and inflate to maximum pressure. Check the pressure again before your first ride and top up if necessary. Compatible with hookless tires, please refer to the rim width and maximum pressure table on the product packaging.
