Three years after the launch of the Scorpion tire family dedicated to the MTB world, Pirelli completes the range with two gravity products designed for the most demanding Enduro (EN) and Downhill (DH) races.

The Scorpion™ T gets its name from traction, whether accelerating, braking or cornering. The center section of the tire features special lugs that increase traction at every stage of the rotation. The central blocks are also pre-shaped to be cut for better mud evacuation in intermediate conditions, especially for front wheel use. The super-soft SmartEVO DH compound is combined with large blocks to offer superb grip in slippery and wet conditions, without compromising the overall stability of the tire thanks to a stiffer base compound. The DualWall+ is the specific casing for downhill and is composed of a 60tpi double layer casing, reinforced with a cut-resistant lateral reinforcement and a rubber insert for the heel. This structure is designed to provide superior protection against cuts and punctures and is designed to absorb small vibrations and large impacts. The enduro-specific DualWall casing is made up of a 120 tpi double-layer casing, reinforced with a rubber bead insert. This structure provides protection and support, despite having a limited weight and the superior softness and speed of an Enduro Race tire.

The key element of the SmartEVO DH is the combination of two layers of rubber compounds: on the outside there is a super-soft high-performance compound (42 Shore A*), while on the inside, under the tread, there is a shock-absorbing compound that provides support and shock absorption. The two compounds work together seamlessly, giving the cyclist a feeling of manageability, reactivity and precision under extreme lateral loads, typical of downhill racing. The outer rubber layer has been tuned keeping in mind that rolling resistance is still a key factor when racing against the clock.
