It's time for your effort and your equipment to become one.
Technological progress must prove itself in practice. One bike in particular should be simple. Elegance means doing without all the superfluous. This is the progress, and specification from Sram for their first electronic shifting system, the Sram RED eTAP.
The eTAP electronics take cycling to a new level: flawless and reliable shifting even in the toughest conditions. Not only does the eTAP work completely wireless, it also has Formula 1 proven shifting logic that has never been realized in electronic or mechanical bicycle shifting before. Switching becomes almost impossible.
The algorithm-based coding of eTAP would do a credit to any payment system. Interference from other electronic devices is therefore excluded. The benchmark for its extremely low overall weight was the Sram RED. Like the flagship mechanical groupset, its electronic sibling is built for racing.
Sram's eTAP is a powerhouse. Its batteries are light, quick to charge, removable, and attached to the front and rear derailleurs. Without cables, assembly becomes child's play.
Sram put the eTAP to the test in WorldTour racing. Now he can begin his triumphal march. The cycling world has waited long enough for real progress. Sram RED eTAP. Are you ready to shift gears?
Sram eTap Blips
Sram developed the RED eTAP Blips so that you can take full advantage of the different grip positions of your drop handlebars while shifting. Two of these shift elements can be installed on each side of the handlebar. No additional hardware is needed to connect the Blips. The Blips are simply attached under the handlebar tape. Since the handlebar tape does not have to be specially cut, the Look of your interior remains tidy.
Whether you're pulling for the final sprint or climbing a step, gliding with a rounded pedal or mobilizing your last reserves of power, a push of a button is always all it takes to shift gears. to change gear. eTAP blips let you switch whenever and wherever you want. Bicycles with time trial handlebars can be equipped with the BlipBox control module.
eTap
Wireless switching, battery energy management and mechatronics - RED eTAP technology has only one goal: to offer you the most intuitive operation possible. We call the switching logic behind it eTAP. The right stalk shifts up, the left shifts down. You can control the gears via both levers. Simple, smoothly and intuitively.
Airea
eTAP transmits displacement signals with 128-bit encryption via Sram's proprietary AIREA wireless protocol. When configuring an eTAP group, a new encryption code is generated each time and assigned to the individual components. This ensures interference-free switching operations.
